Ball Nosed milling cutter quickly remove large amounts of material. This kind of cutter utilizes a wavy tooth form cut on the periphery. These wavy teeth form many successive cutting edges producing many small chips, resulting in a relatively rough surface finish. During cutting, multiple teeth are in contact with the workpiece reducing chatter and vibration. Rapid stock removal with heavy milling cuts is sometimes called hogging. Ball nosed milling cutter are also sometimes known as ripping cutters.

Description

Helical cutters for roughing applications.

Offering a depth of cut up to 108mm, the cutters are suitable for use with 16 inserts and support medium machining of most engineering materials including cast iron, stainless steel and aluminium alloys.

The large clearance between the cutting teeth, combined with internal coolant delivery, promotes efficient chip evacuation.

The axial clamping of inserts on the end teeth increases milling stability. This creates less noise and vibration which, in turn, also reduces tool wear.

•The ability to position multiple inserts along the cutting edge of each helical flute.

•Smooth, progressive penetration and cutting action for extended tool life, lower power consumption, and up to a 30% improvement in surface finish.
